Love Letter for
Halcyon Digest
Web Design

This school project was fundamental in my web design education. It is a love letter of sorts, an ode for Deerhunter’s album Halcyon Digest. In making it, I wanted to both visually convey the album’s poeticism and share my listening experience.

The site can be accessed here.

On the homepage, each song from the album has been given a symbol which I drew while listening to it:

On the page for each song, its symbol becomes a lens through which the landscape of my childhood can be wandered.

When I listen to Halcyon Digest, with its lyrics about romanticizing the past and shimmery, melancholic production, I think of this urban-suburban world in which I grew up. With Google Maps, I embedded Tacoma, Washington into my love letter.
