My frequent collaborator Mostyn Griffith and I designed the new debit card for Finnest, a New England-based company which helps transition kids and teens into financial adulthood. The debit card is central to Finnest’s financial education program, and they wanted something that would stand out from the pack.
The new card features Finnest’s bird logo up front, which we did not design, just arranged. In the background, an eggy pattern, which we did design. Not only does the card have a unique look, it serves to keep the user mindful of the financial nest it unlocks. To keep things clean, we also moved the card number and expiration date to the back.
Orange is a primary color in Finnest’s identity. We found there aren’t many orange cards on the market, so we jumped at the opportunity to use it.
